Things

Things

(Album: Swing When You're Winning - 2001)

Ev'ry night I sit here by my window (window)
Staring at the lonely avenue (avenue)
Watching lovers holding hands 'n' laughing (ha ha ha)
And thinking 'bout the things we used to do

(Thinking about things) Like a walk in the park
(Things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Things) Like a sailboat ride
(Yeah-yeah) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do

Memories are all I have to cling to (cling to)
And heartaches are the friends I'm talking to (but you got me now)
When I'm not thinking 'bout just how much I love you (I love you, too)
I'm thinking 'bout the things we used to do (we used to do)

(Thinking about things) Like a walk in the park
(Things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Things) Like a sailboat ride
(Yeah-yeah) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do

Still can hear the jukebox softly playing (playin')
And the face each day I see belongs to you (belongs to you)
There's not a single sound and there's nobody else around (oh)
It's just me thinking about things we used to do

(Thinking about things) Like a walk in the park
(Lots of things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Yeah, things) Like a sailboat ride
(Whoa-whoa) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover's vow
Things that we don't do now
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do

And the heartaches are the friends I'm talking to
You got me thinking 'bout the things we used to do
I hope so
Thinking 'bout the things we used to do

[Jane:] You were rubbish in that
[Robbie:] Don't start that on me on this album
[Jane:] Why, why did you do it like that that time
[Robbie:] Well, from start to finish there you're saying that I'm wrong
[Jane:] You said I had to think about Kylie when I was doing this and I was
[Robbie:] You obviously weren't thinking about Kylie were you you were thinking about June Whitfield
[Jane:] I can't hear ya now I can't hear ya
[Robbie:] Yeah well you were thinking about June Whitfield. That's who you were thinking of
[Jane:] I have to think about somebody and you told me Kylie
[Robbie:] Well, listen you just came in wrong and then it got progressively worse from there. You started wrong, then it just went worse, it went bad bad bad right towards the end
[Jane:] Who said bad, when you sang
[Robbie:] When you sang
[Jane:] No!
[Robbie:] Yes you can hear me look look don't start the on your last album. I don't want anything to do with it. I'm going. Goodbye
