Bonjour!

Take It Back

Take It Back

(album: Lethal - 2017)

The bigger the river, the bigger the drought
The bigger the mountain, the bigger the dought
The bigger the clouds, the bigger the rain
The bigger the town, the bigger the pain

Take it back to the small town
Take it back where they know my name
Take it back for a slow down
Let's do it all over again

Take it back one time where the sun still
Shines even when your living under a cloud
Take it back for a slow down
Let's do it all over again

If I could turn the clock I'd prolly change a couple things
Decisions made when I was standing in the pouring rain
Second guessing nearly everything that came my way
I shun the blessings to fill my pain every day
Grades failing till the day I graduated
Filled my own mind with false pride infatuated
Was being someone else living someone else's dream
Feeling sorry for myself, it's exactly what it seems
Small town where everybody knew my name not
Everybody knew my shame not everybody knew my pain
Self inflicted no there's no one else to blame
So what is there to gain man I'm tryin to explain
Slow down back to the humblest beginning walkin ining
After ending remembering the beginning of that small town
Where the folks stayed grinning
Everybody wasn't winning
Back in the beginning because

The bigger the river, the bigger the drought
The bigger the mountain, the bigger the dought
The bigger the clouds, the bigger the rain
The bigger the town, the bigger the pain

Take it back to the small town
Take it back where they know my name
Take it back for a slow down
Let's do it all over again

Take it back one time where the sun still
Shines even when your living under a cloud
Take it back for a slow down
Let's do it all over again

That fast lane ain't for everybody not me
Take it back and slow down y'all it got me
A little taste of my in the bright lights
I never forgot where I came from that ain't right
I've been round the world stood in all 50 states
Hand in hand with my girl but never left that place
My hometown Jerry's driving that angels car
That ole pick and say blue raise sting boats boy
Red green fields Southwest Paul boat
Most of which are gone now cuz were getting old
When time flies when your having a blast but
Sometimes you gotta take that heavy foot off the gas
And reflect on your past moves and how it all affects you
I wouldn't change much baby I'd never met you
I live in the present but never forget my hometown
I like the water but I'll see you when I touch down

Take it back to the small town
Take it back where they know my name
Take it back for a slow down
Let's do it all over again
All over again
Take it back for a slow down
Let's do it all over again...
