Bonjour!

Death Of A Dream (from "Highway Butterfly: The Songs of Neal Casal" compilation)

Death Of A Dream (from "Highway Butterfly: The Songs of Neal Casal" compilation)

Who you trying to kid
And lie about those things you did?
Written all over your face
The best thing to do is get out of this place
As quickly as you can

And what you trying to say?
You're trying to get me to see things your way
And it leaves me in a daze
The best thing to do is get out of my face
As quickly as you can
Quickly as you can

'Cause it's not worth my time and trouble that I had to spend
And I'm burnt and I'm blind and always on the edge of something
Worse than this and never know what I would do for you
And the time and trouble that I had to spend

What you trying to prove?
Believe me, it's easy now, it's nothing to lose
And every single plan that you have
So the best thing to do is drop out of this place
As quickly as you can
As quickly as you can

'Cause it ain't worth my time and trouble that I had to spend
And I'm burnt and I'm blind and always on the edge of something
Worse than this and never know what I would do for you
And the time and the trouble that I had to spend

You went to sleep with that pill caught in your throat
You didn't even bother to leave a note
How does it feel to be known so well
With no story to tell and nothing else to sell?
It's just lucky for you, you woke up and you fell

Where you trying to go?
Been seven years waiting and you still don't know
But don't take this so bad
The best thing to do is get out of this place
As quickly as you can
As quickly as you can

'Cause it ain't worth my time and trouble that I had to spend
And I'm burnt and I'm blind and always on the edge of something
Worse than this and never know what I would do for you
And the time and the trouble that I had to spend
'Cause it ain't worth my time and trouble that I had to spend
And I'm burnt and I'm blind and always on the edge of something
Worse than this and I never know what I would do for you
And the time and the trouble that I ought to spend

I had to spend
And I had to spend
And I had to spend
