I'll disappear into the sunset
With my friend Jimmy by my side
My gun has six strings and my horse is made of steel
And through the night, we'll ride ride, ride, ride

I might not live to see tomorrow
They say that I'm a wanted man
So every second that I live is time that's borrowed
Now my life is in God's hands

So down the highway, headlights they dance
And do the tango, I'm in a trance
They've got me running, now I'm gunning
For the Rio Grande

So here I go, right down to Mexico
I hope I make it to the border
One thing I know, they're out to get me so
I hope I make it to the border

You know, last night they almost got me
But me and Jimmy got away
And I know they won't stop until they've finally caught me
That'll be my dying day

Five hundred miles until I get there
I'm gonna have to stop for gas
I never know what day is gonna be the day
That my life finally comes to pass
