"People view music as like it's the same thing they've done to everything and they did it to music They commodify it, they make it product and then they make it trendy
Because I'll admit, like, I remember when I was younger, when I would be going arranging my iTunes and I would be like, I would think about what I would want other people to see in my iTunes
You know what I'm saying, like what I would want Why should that ever be a factor? This is music, art that I listen to to enjoy
But I would think about what how I define myself and relfect myself and like what I would want people to see
"It's like I gotta have this, I gotta have that in here so people know I'm gotta have that"
And I think that, like, people aren't aware of that in themselves but they're like "yo, nah nah I got-gotta have that new shit, listen to this new shit, I listen to this new shit
That's what I listen to because" because they situate their identity in this place of ("in that realm") yeah, in that realm
Like you know what I'm saying, and so it becomes it doesn't even have to do with how they actually feel about the music, it's just how they're tynna define themselves as a person."
