He turned off the TV I could tell he was pissed
He stormed out and mumbled I can't believe it's come to this
Wandered around the front yard talking to himself
I stepped out in time to hear they can all just go to hell

When he saw I was standing there he just shook his head
Reached up and grab those dog tags he still wore around his neck
Said when I raised my right hand I meant every word I said

Son I'm still under oath, I might be getting old
You don't have to be young to be deadly with a gun
We fought them overseas to keep them off our shores
Now the lap dogs in D.C. are bringing them in the front door
There's one thing those know-it-alls don't know
There's millions more out there just like me

He said I'da called you crazy if I ever heard
That the day would come when a patriot would be a dirty word
And every other country what they call an invasion
Here in America it's reformed immigration

So I'll cling to my bible and I cling to my gun
The greatest threat we face is up in Washington
