Monsters they live in our house
Wear mommy and daddy's skin
Don't think they want to eat us
Because they are keeping us thin
Puts his big claws on my mouth
So I am unable to speak
She covers my sister's big eyes
And tells her that she mustn't peek

Don't come into this place
Don't ask me questions, don't look at my face

Again and again I escaped to the backyard
To play I smashed all the bugs they have no voices
Anyway I once caught a frog I squeezed him to sleep
He said he was cold so I buried him deep

These feelings will just last the night
Tomorrow the world will be bright
I buried him where peace will last
No future and freed from the past
I write sister's name in the sand
I tell her god's in her and reach out my hand
She'll rest with my friend in the ground
Waiting for Jesus to come back around

I cover her face with my glove
I lay her down gently with big brother's love

Over and over we hurt those who we love
So why do I look for the answers above
When all of this madness is inside myself
We welcome and wallow in personal hell

Mommy and daddy are mad
Mad at what I've done
I've hidden her body from them
I escape through the hole and I run
I follow the sidewalk for miles
So far away from those two
But mommy and daddy will come
No telling what they will do
