Stripes! I'm up to here with them
Stripes! When all is said and done
What's so very good about being black and white
There's thousands of us in the herd who all look alike

So, just for a laugh
I'll pretend to be a giraffe
Eating all the top leaves, who could blame
Me for not wanting to be looking just the same
As all the other zebras (although they're very nice)
I'm simply bored to tears with my black and white

Stripes! I'm up to here with them
Stripes! When all is said and done
What's so very good about being black and white
There's thousands of us in the herd who all look alike

There are such a lot of us
I will be a hippopotamus
Splashing in the water, what a smashing game
I'm so fed up with looking just the same
As all the other zebras (although they're very nice)

Maybe it's worth trying
I'd stick some dry grass on and tried to look like a lion

Having black and white stripes is all right!
