Hallo!

We voegen alle onbekende woorden ervan toe.

Didn't Think I'd Miss

Didn't Think I'd Miss

(album: George Birge - 2022)

Growing up in an ain't-goin'-nowhere town
Everywhere else looked better
To a boy feeling stuck 'tween a barbed wire and dust
In a truck that the rust held together
I put some gone on that two-lane
The only way out and in
Told myself I'd never look back
But here I go again

Thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss
Backroad buzzing where the train track splits
A hometown girl and her goodbye kiss
Just thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss
Walking tall in a jersey with my daddy's last name
Couple wild nights that earned me that small-town fame
Sitting here, leaning back, taking a sip
Just thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss, yeah

I can still smell the smoke from the bonfire glow
Mixed with whiskey and her perfume
Sneaking off to the woods, getting up to no good
'Cause there wasn't nothing better to do
I put that song on the stereo
And she's back in my arms again
Thought it'd be easy to let her go
But now I just can't quit

Thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss
Backroad buzzing where the train track splits
A hometown girl and her goodbye kiss
Just thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss
Walking tall in a jersey with my daddy's last name
Couple wild nights that earned me that small-town fame
Sitting here, leaning back, taking a sip
Just thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss, yeah

Thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss
The more I drink, the longer the list
That hometown girl and her goodbye kiss
Thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss
Walking tall in a jersey with my daddy's last name
Couple wild nights that earned me that small-town fame
Sitting here, leaning back, taking a sip
Just thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss, yeah
Just thinking 'bout things I didn't think I'd miss, mm
