Hallo!

We voegen alle onbekende woorden ervan toe.

Johnson Boys / Cotton-Eyed Joe

Johnson Boys / Cotton-Eyed Joe

(album: Nu Folk - 2003)

Johnson boys were born in the ashes
Didn't know how to court a maid
Turned their backs and hide their faces
Sight of a pretty girl made 'em afraid
Sight of a pretty girl made 'em afraid
Sight of a pretty girl made 'em afraid
Sight of a pretty girl made 'em afraid
Sight of a pretty girl made 'em afraid

Johnson boys they went a courting
Coon Creek girls so pretty and sweet
They couldn't make no conversation
Didn't know where to put their feet
Didn't know where to put their feet
Didn't know where to put their feet
Didn't know where to put their feet
Didn't know where to put their feet

Johnson boys they went a hunting
Took two dogs and went astray
Tore there clothes and scratched their faces
Didn't come back till the break of day
Didn't come back till the break of day
Didn't come back till the break of day
Didn't come back till the break of day
Didn't come back till the break of day

Johnson boys the went to the city
Riding in a Chevrolet
They came home broke and a walking
Had no money for to pay their way
Had no money for to pay their way
Had no money for to pay their way
Had no money for to pay their way
Had no money...

If it had to be for Cotton-Eyed Joe
I'd be married long time ago
Where did you come from, where did you go
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eyed Joe

If it had to be for Cotton-Eyed Joe
I'd be married long time ago
Where did you come from, where did you go
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eyed Joe

Get out your fiddle, rous'n up your bow
Play an old tune called Cotton-Eyed Joe
Where did you come from, where did you go
Where did you come from, Cotton-Eyed Joe

klaar
