And I know it don't look like much and I need it re-touched
'Cause the ink's all sun struck and faded
But I wouldn't trade it

When I think of my first tattoo
I think about you and being 18
And carving our names in an old oak tree
Just teenage dreaming in the backseat
Sneaking out in the middle of the night
High beam headlights in Daddy's muscle car
And wishing for forever on a fallen star
And that first time you let it go too far

Yeah, the cross on my back is there for Grandad
And I know he's upstairs with the big man
But, damn, do I miss him

And this one here on my chest was a spring break bet
On some gulf shore town right outside of Panama City
