Dreams covered in granite
Addicts becoming bandits
Static is running rampant
Stutter stammer
While I'm pissing in the gutter hammered
Piecing my broken poetry with all my cut up grammar
Fast forward to the action
With the lights and camera
The ups and downs, hot and cold where the hype surround ya
You've gotten old while this life has found ya
Forgot the bold strokes you took with the trife around ya
Well, the consequences of an action can progress together
The mastermind as fast as time, who can catch up never
The violent balance of a desperate measure
The forgotten foe who never got out, so he's obsessed forever

I can't quite place you
But I sure as hell know what you've done
Sitting next to me, but I can't face you
Our legs can move, and I can't run
Even when you do something right your wrong
Give it a few years, it won't be long
Before it catches you

As if I had another face with some other features
A story half-remembered told in cut up pieces
It goes back to Cain being his brother's keeper
The eternal sleep of Abela and the blood of Jesus
Or when Brutus stuck his dagger in the gut of Caesar
Such a long history of undiscovered leeches
So now it gets to me, this man got in his speakers
Jealousy inside his eyes and mud on his sneakers
Bares a disguise
Prepares the demise of a man who he cares to surmise
Has ruined his life, done him wrong with tears in his eyes
He climbs the stairs and decides to even the score
The deeper his lies spin, he starts to believe in it more... Lord
I guess the same way that we rise is why we fall
Here in the midst of my demise, as I recall
Four scores and seven years before, I made my bed
Now he put the gun to my head, and this is what he said
