It's funny how it turns out when you're not expecting it
Still remember playing Call of Duty 4 without ejecting it
Every moment I had free
I was on it day and night
And although I'm not proud of it
It even caused a couple fights
And free for all was the mode for me
Friends list like forever alone
Being stuck on MT
But the minute that I made that gamertag
The track to the top
One way, no turning back
One destination
I'm always tip-toeing closer
Towards it everyday
For better or worse
Now hundreds of thousands of you
Have grown to know my name
And now I thank you cause my life
Will never be told to be the same
And all of this I owe to a video game?
This new found popularity still got my mind racing
Can't even sign online without finding
Four or five brand new friend invitations
And through it all one things holds tried and true
You made your own name, what you do with it is up to you

Playing video games for a living, kind crazy
Used to play for fun but now I play because they pay me
I've come a long way since back in the day
My original gamertag wasn't easy to say
B-1-2-Y-4-N-5-1-M-0-N
It's no wonder why I could never make any friends
But then my channel blew up after the Black Ops rap
I got some Microsoft points and changed my gamertag
Not just a collection of letters, but something true

Now the people I've looked up to are asking me for help

But I started as a noob, and yeah it's true that it was tough
I dedicated myself and through practice I came up
My name started to climb the scoreboards and lobbies
From last to first, the roles reversed, they start to recognize me
'Cause at the end of the day, it's about the video game
About proving yourself on the most awesome stage
Now tell them your name, and go give them hell
In this gaming community that we built for ourselves
