He was a hard old man sitting on his porch

Bug zapper dangling from his roof

Then a truck turned left into his drive
Old man reloaded his gun
Was a big city boy with slicked back hair
And he climbed down outta his truck
Old man said if I were you I'd probably duck

Then he capped off two-three rounds of buckshot
Just over top of his head
Ole Slick Back Hair just hit that ground
And probably thought he's dead
He said what you're selling, I ain't buying
Get your ass on down that road
Slick Back Hair would try again
This the old man knows

See old man, he owned two hundred acres
Where the neighborhood wanted to be
But he wouldn't sell out and it pissed them off
That he kept it in family
Board members held a meeting to hear
The story from Slick Back Hair
Said, "Let's burn his crops straight to the ground
And leave his cane fields bare"
But old man was a step ahead
And he was prepared

Well the board came late at 2AM
With torches ready to go
Old man called up his 7 sons
Had shotguns on each post
Then a lead-ball raincloud began to rain down
And Slick Back Hair was hit
Over and over and over
Till they all fell in the ditch

Old man looked up at all his boys
Said our work is done tonight
They buried them in the bayou
And no one was ever tried
If you're ever deep in Mississippi
Below the Adams County line
You'll see two hundred acres
Of sugar cane growing on each side
