Caught up in senses
With the light and the form and the feeling here
I am defenseless
From the drug of myself I am dealing with here

I ask a friend of mine
Who seems to have a handle on these matters

That believes it's being flattered

The edifice of thought that imprisons me
Pure reality
A freedom from all that is, apparently

As all of time and space around me narrows

All of the illusion that created me
No more identity
A freedom from what I was, apparently

All of the sensation that assembles me
Only energy
A freedom from how it feels, apparently

And so we dream a self-consciousness
The dream is I am aware of myself
I am aware that I am here and I'm on a path
And I'm leading myself to a destination
That's the dream and it's not wrong
And even after it's recognized that there is no separate self
There is still a story, there's still a movie
But for no one you can say
So things are still appearing, but for no one
And there's no longer the
The fearful control of "I have to change my reality
I have to change myself
So I can feel better, find fulfillment
Find enlightenment, find freedom"
